Effects of Applied Biochar and Municipal Solid Waste Compost on Saline Soil Properties and Sorghum Plant Attributes

The hypothesis is that incorporating saline soil with biochar or compost reduces the deteriorating effects of salinity. pot experiment was irrigated waters different salinities (4.5 and 9 dS m-1) a silty clay in pots thoroughly mixed 1.5% w/w biochar, municipal solid waste mixtures 0.5 × 0.5% two mentioned substances. Irrigation provided to realize 0.15 leaching fractions for equilibrating Soil plants were analysed after months (T1) three (T2) sowing. Saline irrigation water decreased SAR (~45%) SOC (~5.5%), respectively T2 compared T1. treatment reduced amount ECe T1 T2. Both irrigating amendments greatly changed leaf potential (LWP), chlorophyll proline leaf. LWP increased by 17 76%, respectively, increasing salinity, while content significantly (~52%). overall finding region showed more enhance properties sorghum production.
